Erling Haaland Exits the World Cup in Style With a Bizarre Taxidermy Souvenir

Jul 14, 2026

Norway’s spectacular run at the 2026 FIFA World Cup™ came to a heartbreaking close, but superstar striker Erling Haaland still managed to steal the headlines on his way out of the tournament.

Heartbreak at Hard Rock Stadium

The Nordic squad’s Cinderella story ended in a thrilling quarter-final matchup against England. Norway struck first, taking control of the game when Andreas Schjelderup found the back of the net in the 36th minute.

However, a missed opportunity proved costly. During a critical breakaway, Alexander Sorloth opted not to pass to a wide-open Haaland, leaving the door open for an English comeback. Jude Bellingham capitalized, equalizing just before halftime and ultimately securing a 2-1 victory for the Three Lions with a crucial goal in extra time.

The “Whiskey Raccoon” Sensation

While Norway heads home, Haaland ensured his exit was entirely unforgettable. The Manchester City forward sent social media into a frenzy after touching down at the airport in Oslo.

Photographed carrying a designer Dolce & Gabbana tote bag over one shoulder, Haaland turned heads by cradling a very unusual keepsake under his other arm: a taxidermy raccoon clutching a liquor bottle.

“It followed me home,” Haaland joked on Instagram, sharing photos of his newest companion along with a raccoon and laughing emoji.

According to reports, the $750 piece, affectionately dubbed the “Whiskey Raccoon,” was purchased at Wild Bill’s Western Store in Dallas during Norway’s time in Texas for the tournament. Fans online initially suspected the bizarre images were generated by AI, but the eccentric souvenir is completely real.

Once again, Haaland has proven that his larger-than-life personality is just as unpredictable off the pitch as his scoring ability is on it.
